the 1.0 tarball is *NOT* out yet, contrary to slashdot

Slashdot jumped the gun. We haven't even prepared the 1.0 tarball. The
site is crushed, and I'm working on that. Karl is quickly assembling the
1.0 release right now.

sigh.

The real announcement will come tonite, maybe tomorrow at the latest.
