Using "svn co ..." kills connection

Moin,

I got a wierd problem with svn on my box:

When I do:

        svn co http://svn.perl.org/modules/sdl sdl-perl

I get asked for a username (use "anon"), password (just hit enter) and then
my connection is dead and svn hangs. The only remedy is to power-cycle my
box _and_ my DSL modem. I tried it with the installed v0.35 as well as with
a brand-new compiled-from-source v1.00beta1 and both hang.

I also installed v0.17 (ancient, I know :) from my SuSE DVD and this version
is able to complete the checkout without any problem. But as soon as I use
0.35 or 1.0, I have to reebot to get a inet-connection back.

I am running SuSE 8.2 (kernel 2.4.20-with-some-security-patches-by-suse)
with some updates.

I have no idea how to debug this, or what is wrong or how I can fix this.
I'll gladly send any system details you want. Does anybody have any ideas
on what to try next? I would like to use a more modernsvn version without
loosing my net connection all the time :)

Best wishes,

Tels
