Whew, that is a truly fine piece of meta-criticism. I loved it, and
hope anyone who encounters Tom's original doc sees your response too.

One excellent & subtle point, picked at random:

   Tom's general assertion that Subversion "underwent fuzzy design
   conceptualization" appears to be a combination of two factors: (1)
   an unfair comparison between what has gone on inside his head in
   the development of Arch (most of which is not written down) and
   what was publically written down during Subversion's development
   and read by him, [...]

Ahem, yes :).
