The sentiments above could have been expressed a little more gently
with the point still getting across, but no big deal.

Gstein mostly lurks these days, but he actually keeps up on threads
amazingly well (I've learned in private conversation that he's usually
following everything at at least a summary level, and technical
threads at at least one level deeper than that). I recommend against
speculating about how much of a mail thread he has or hasn't read :-).

But yes -- a justification needs to be provided for the veto, and I'm
sure he'll do that now.
