The discussion should be both "what do we call the tar files" as well as "what
does subversion print out from the command line."

$ svn --version
svn, version 0.35.0 (dev build)

I built this two days ago, from this path:

URL: http://svn.collab.net/repos/svn/trunk

so obviously sometimes someone may build something other than from one of the
blessed releases. Shouldn't we make that part of our discussion too? All I'm
saying is that I would prefer that this would report the revision, too, instead
of the generic "(dev build)" tag. The presence of the string "0.35.0" is useful
to humans, more so that just "r8000" would be...
