I think this is the real point, in this case. We should be cautious
about how we interpret it--some of the excitement undoubtedly has more
to do with hating CVS than loving SVN, especially now when it's not in
general circulation yet. But hey: this *is* "a compelling replacement
for CVS," and the vast spread of CVS despite its limitations testifies
just how important that is to us all.
So give us your best Gary Cooper act, if you must ... rub your toe in
the dirt and say "Aw, shucks, ma'am." But don't spurn sincere praise!
It's insulting to the giver, and demeaning to the recipient.
