I usually feel exactly the same way about awards. In this case, I
looked at the panel of judges, and decided it had some credibility,
before putting the award up on our front page.
But if people don't like it, I can take it down (or just take it down
yourself, if you're a committer). I don't feel strongly about it
either way. Except I just mailed the editor saying it was on our
front page, so I feel it would be sort of rude to yank it right away.
Maybe wait a week if you're going to pull it :-).
