smtp authentication in commit hook + locking + donation

Three questions:

1) My mail server can't send mail unless I log in. But
I can't find a way to specify authentication (at least
not in mailer.conf). Is there such a thing as
smtp_username and smtp_password?

2) We really, really need the ability to lock some
binary files exclusively - preferably using the leased
lock model suggestion. I know you guys are working
hard on 1.0, but will this have high priority after
1.0?

3) How is it possible to fall in love with an SCM system?
