I read the SWIG bindings, but I'm still not capable of leveraging it for PHP.
I can however, work in C. It would have been a lot simple for me to use the
framework of svn itself.

It's a lot more work to bring all that into an environment where no one else
is working on it, than to do it where it's mostly there, but ok.
