bug: svn merge -r X:Y http://server-name/non/existant/path/ produces no output

Hi.

the command
 $ svn merge -r X:Y http://server-name/non/existant/path/

produces no output whereas the command
 $ svn diff -r X:Y http://server-name/non/existant/path/

produces:
subversion/libsvn_client/diff.c:1596: (apr_err=160013)
svn: Filesystem has no item
svn: 'http://192.168.0.10/svn/repos/branches/medium-directory' was not found
in
the repository at either revision 355 or 370
