I am sorry. I only skimmed the thread. Not deep enough, to realize
that the scheme question has been moot for the (in the meantime)
preferred path of action.

Well, I didn't say nor meant to imply that a the URL scheme should be
the way to go. From my point of view, I simply made a suggestion for
what an URL scheme, which builds functionality on an existing scheme
should look like.
