I assume you're referring to me, since you quoted my response to you :)
No, I'm not adverse to asking questions of any kind, though, FAQs do
get somewhat tiresome occasionally (I'm speaking generally here, not
implying that you asked a FAQ.

I believe in the case of Sander Roobol, the current patch manager,
he's just visually grep'ing out the messages. When I stood in for
him, I relied upon [PATCH] because I make heavy use of procmail.

I also believe there are others using procmail or some other form of
filtering. So, best to stick with the convention.

Since Sander mentioned he's picked up the patch and logged an issue
against it, no need to re-submit.

Well, I didn't see you quoting HACKING, merely asking if you should
resubmit with [PATCH] in the subject line. I don't know who has and
hasn't read HACKING, and it's a rather long document. Many people
have skimmed it and not realized it contains many answers to many
often asked questions. This appeared to be that type of situation and
that section implies that this convention should be followed. I was
merely pointing out that the standard documentation seemed to indicate
that following what it says couldn't hurt. I apologize for any
offense you took at that.

Files> I am entitled to ask. If you need to belittle me, just quit.

No one said you weren't entitled, nor was I belittling you, I'm sorry
if you feel that I was.
