Like what? I've seen no such problems at all in the Win32 APIs or .Net
framework and I've got native code and web services under Subversion's
control which work just fine in VSNET2003.

Can you be more specific on what is going wrong? Like a repro recipe
with a small sample app of some kind -- ie, create a new project, put it
under Subversions control (how did you do it?), VSNet now croaks or
whatever...
