I just mounted the filespace via samba (same Linux-Server, same directory,
etc) which leads to error-free checkouts (albeit smaba seems to be slower
than nfs and I will have to convince the server administrator to change
to samba config allowing case-sensitive filenames...).
This test seems to confirm the theory of a bug/race condition in the
nfs code. Nevertheless, I would like to track down the nfs problem.
