It worked for me on my XP box. The change doesn't show up in command prompt
windows that were opened before the installation - could that be the problem
you're seeing?

Although, as Tim Leeuw van der points out, any apache service might need a
restart before the change is noticed. (stopping & starting the service might
be good enough but I haven't got the server running at the moment).
