hot-backup script produces zombie?

hi all

i just run a hotbackup of my repository and i noticed something
internessting:

when i start the python script ps reports an zombie ..
when i the python script is finished or killed the "zombie" is gone...

svn:/Backup # ps aux | grep svn
root 16389 9.2 1.5 2920 1984 pts/1 D 10:43 1:10 python
./hot-backup.py /home/svn/components /Backup/components-20030829
root 16390 0.0 0.0 0 0 pts/1 Z 10:43 0:00 [svnlook
<defunct>]

any idea why this happens?
