INSTALL and tarball bootstraps

Shouldn't INSTALL, in section II.A, "Bootstrapping from a Tarball or
RPM", advise --disable-shared, as well as --enable-maintainer-mode?

This seems to make it less sensitive to what's already installed on
the machine (like, order versions of svn!). Particularly, it seems,
on Darwin.
