Actually, Mark Benedetto King pointed out that this check is already
in configure.in:

case "$host" in
powerpc-apple-darwin*)
    # Berkeley DB 4.0 does not work on OS X.
    SVN_FS_WANT_DB_MAJOR=4
    SVN_FS_WANT_DB_MINOR=1
    SVN_FS_WANT_DB_PATCH=25

So Steve must have been using a version configured before 5692 when
Matt Kraai added that.
