I doubt it. We've left out some of CVS's misfeatures on purpose, and I
think it's quite likely we'd leave this one out, too.

(P.S.: I wish GNU make didn't try to look for dependencies in SCCS and
RCS repositories...same sort of breakage there.)

That's a very narrow way to look at version control. I'm not even sure
development environments is where the idea of version control started.
Certainly document flow/management systems are a much larger potential
user of version control than software development.
