RE: Connection with TSVN to nonApache SVN server

Hi,

This identical message appeared on the list a couple of days ago as well.

Nobody has come up with an explanation yet; I asked you if there are perhaps
any old versions of SVN / TSVN on either of the computers.

Also, have you verified that local checkouts work on the linux machine?
- Using file:/// protocol
- Using svn: protocol to connect from linux to linux locally

Have you configured Apache / mod_dav_svn and tested the same repository with
that?

What about the nature of the files in your repository - binary, text? What
kind of text-encoding?
I don't know what the svnserve protocol looks like. Could differences in
text-encoding on systems have an impact on the svnserve protocol?

Regards,

--Tim

Subject: Connection with TSVN to nonApache SVN server

Hi all,

I have this problem:

1. I created repository at /repos/name_of_repository.
3. Imported some directory structure as project to this repository (still on
my linux box) as
described at svn book.
2. Started up on my server linux box Subversion as a non-Apache server with
anonymous
access (using xinetd with parameters -d -r /repos/name_of_repository),
running as root.
4. On second machine with WinXP I have installed TSVN.

So when I try to checkout the project using URL
svn://ip.of.linux.box/repos/name_of_repository
or svn://ip.of.linux.box/ with TSVN, I always get message:
Malformed network data.

What's the problem? At URL? At server configuration? Or between "keyboard
and chair"? :o)

SVN on linux box installed from subversion-0.24.2-3.i386.rpm and
TSVN from TortoiseSVN-0.12.1-UNICODE.msi.

Thank you for any help.

Regards,

Richard Bukovansky
