SVN_VER_TAG is correct. SVN_VER_REVISION is off because for some reason
its set to the revision of the tree used to make the tarball instead of
the proper one I specify on the dist.sh command line (but don't even get
me started on dist.sh issues).

As for the revision tag, what are you talking about?
