I've always thought this was kind of weird myself. You have to do "svn
diff -r 938:938". Not sure if there is precedence for either behavior.

Maybe we need a perforce like command:

        svn describe rev

By itself it would only show the log and changed files for the rev (just
like "svn log --verbose -r rev").

        svn describe --verbose rev

Same as above, but attaches the diff aswell.

Maybe the describe log output could be the same as the post-commit email
hook :)
