*nod* Thanks. That pointed right to my problem. I upgraded from RH 8
to RH 9, and my neon installation had been built by me for RH 8. From
RH 8 to RH 9 OpenSSL went from 0.9.6->0.9.7.

So, I just recompiled neon and installed it again, and it works fine
now.
