ViewCVS/SWIG/Python Issue

Hello,

I am trying to get ViewCVS working with Subversion. I have subversion
(0.21.0) working with apache2. I have SWIG, Python, and ViewCVS installed. I
have built the svn SWIG bindings for Python and installed them in
site-packages. However, whenever I try to use the svn bindings from Python
(e.g., just using command-line test: python -c "from svn import client") I
get: "ImportError: Inappropriate file type for dynamic loading".

Anyone have any ideas what I can do to get past this? Do I need to
custom-build python? (I am using the Fink binary, which appears to be
2.2.2-5, for OS X. I previously was using the version that came with OS X,
which returns "Python 2.2" from "python -V".)

Please CC me in any responses as I am not subscribed to this list. Also, if
I should post this to viewcvs@lyra.org instead (or as well) please let me
know.

Thanks.
