It should be an incomprehensible high ascii symbol, since you have an
incomprehensible working base.

Just kidding.
I don't like X *or* #.
# is too often used as a comment symbol in things that my brain is wired
to see it that way, and i'd probably miss it.
Howzabout "<" or something.
