We are happy to announce the Alpha 1 release of AnkhSVN, an open source
Subversion addin for VS.NET.
A source .zip and a Windows Installer package can be found at
http://ankhsvn.tigris.org/servlets/ProjectDocumentList The source compiles
against Subversion 0.22.2
Features:
· The VS.NET solution explorer shows the status of all files in your working
copy
· You can commit, update, add, revert and run diffs against the text base
from within VS.NET. This works on the solution, individual projects, folders
and files.
. You can write your log messages from within VS.NET
· Ankh calls svn delete on files deleted from the IDE.
· Ankh detects new files added to a project

There is a known issue with the setup process in that sometimes the menu
entries added by Ankh don't show up in VS.NET on the first run after the
installation. On subsequent runs they are present.
Currently, only VS.NET 2002 is officially supported, but we are interested
in hearing from you if you attempt to install it under VS.NET 2003
You will still need to use the svn command line client for some of the more
advanced Subversion operations, and you should download the Windows version
of the Subversion tools from
http://subversion.tigris.org/servlets/ProjectDocumentList
For those new to Subversion and/or version control in general, we recommend
the Subversion book available online at http://svnbook.red-bean.com/
If you have any problems with it, there is a mailing list set up at
http://subversion.tigris.org/servlets/ProjectMailingListList. To subscribe,
send a mail to users-subscribe@ankhsvn.tigris.org. If you don't want to
subscribe, you can mail users@ankhsvn.tigris.org and we will accommodate
requests to CC the replies to you directly. Questions related to building
and/or contributing to Ankh should be directed to dev@ankhsvn.tigris.org
There is also an issue tracker set up at
http://ankhsvn.tigris.org/servlets/ProjectIssues. To be able to report
issues, you need to have a tigris.org user account and observer status on
the ankhsvn project. We will honor requests for such status, but we will
appreciate it if you search the archives before submitting any new issues.

Sincerely, the AnkhSVN team - Per Krämer, Kristin Borud and Arild Fines
