Excellent. In the interest of improving this by iteration, I have
committed your patch in revision 5930. Note that I moved the revision
number from the <pubdate> to the <subtitle> in the interests of making
it plainly clear what revision we're at to anyone who glances at the
book.

I would like to request that you submit another patch that fixes (what
I consider to be) a bug in your implementation: currently, if the
version.xml already exists, you have to make clean in order to have it
regenerated. I would like it if the Makefile would handle this more
elegantly (that is, just blow away and regenerate the version.xml file
each time).

Oh, and while I'm at it, how about adding a date in there too (ala
http://svnbook.red-bean.com/html-chunk/). This would be much
appreciated.
