at least on the version of xemacs i've got installed here, the vc
package seems considerably different from that of gnu emacs. sure
enough, there is no vc-handled-backends that i can see, and there aren't
even separate files for each version control system's backend. making
vc-svn.el work with xemacs may be a considerable amount of work...
