Because of the potentially to irrevocably break an atomic commit
into multiple revisions, should we make it opt-in?

i.e., something like:

--This line, and those below, will be ignored.
--If the above line is removed, the list after the next line
--will be interpreted as a list of files to include in the commit.

This may be confusing and/or overkill, I admit.
