You're definitely at least somewhat right on that. I've never been
nearly as competent with AIX as I am on, say, Linux, but I do know it's
something limited in scope to the AIX box we have, because other
machines using the same network, etc., all go fine.

And I'm not certain I'd say that the "value" added by that allegedly
better bus/etc., is anything other than placebo, because the uptime on
the average intel box seems pretty damn high.
