Local repositories with subversion on Win98

    Hi,

I've seen messages on the subversion mailing list which said that svn cannot work with local repositories on Win98. I did have the same error message reported in these mails ("Error getting UID") but I was able to fix it by supplying the "--username" option to svn.

It might be a good idea to allow the username to be put in the config files, or maybe to allow urls of the form: "file://username@/some/dir" (this might make it easier for use with GUIs like TortoiseSVN).

        Jerome

PS: I already try tried to send this once and it didn't appear to get through. I hope that doesn't mean it'll eventually get there twice...
