Poor Michael couldn't do squat with the repository bouncing up and
down the last couple of days :-).

Anyway, you don't need to wait for him to branch, since he can always
branch from a revision other than HEAD, if advised to. Go ahead and
commit your changes, and just warn Michael about that revision.
