Why fearful?

I've got a regression test for the bug here, which fails without
Vladimir's fix and passes with it. The tree has passed check and
davcheck so far, and svncheck is almost done. I'd like to commit it,
to get the segfault out of the tree now, but that doesn't have to be
final -- it's as easy to revert 5407+fix as to revert 5407 alone.
