svn log broken in svn:// repos with rev. 5394

Hi,

 is it just me or did one of the recent changes break the 'svn log'
feature for svn:// repos?

this version works:
svn --version

This one does not show 'svn log':

svn --version
svn, version 0.19.1 (dev build)
   compiled Mar 19 2003, 20:43:02
Revision: 5394

I can svn co, svn diff, but svn log gives me:

olaf@smirnow:/tmp/ieee1394> svn log
svn: Malformed network data
svn: Malformed network data
olaf@smirnow:/tmp/ieee1394>

Anyone else seeing this? I dont know what server version is used on
linux1394.org, but I would guess it is not the latest and greatest.
