Running Subversion on AIX :(

I tried for quite a while to get Subversion running on AIX, and in the
end, I simply could not get BerkleyDB-4.0.14 or BerkleyDB-4.1.25 to
operate correctly. This included installing the outside of Subversion
and trying to run the tests to tclsh. I used up all the hints on the
sleepcat.com web site. :(

I went so far as to try to use the gcc 3.2.1 compiler for AIX instead of
the IBM xLC compiler, but the two sets of include files conflicted. In
all, it turned into quite an ordeal that failed. :(

So, as a stop gap measure until I have more time to devote, I brought up
a Linux server for my repository. Not what I originally wanted, but it
will work for the short term. This, by the way, was fairly easy. :)

Maybe, I will have time in a couple of months to try AIX again.
