There is, however a hack that can be used to reduce the apparent
amplification factor.
Use of the sarcasm tag to structure your email filters the user perceptions
without actually reducing the sarcasm of the content.
For example,
<sarcasm>
I also do this thing called "testing" whereby I notice problems in code.
</sarcasm>

<anecdote fictional="yes">
Consistent use of the tag has been shown to have an apparent amplification
factor of 3.
</anecdote>
