Yes, that is correct. A server compiled from (HEAD, /trunk) currently
can only be accessed by a 0.19 client or newer.

The 0.19 release branch was changed so that the server no longer sends
these unrecognized xml elements, but not the trunk. So a *released*
0.19 server will work with any client.
