I did that already (nearly at the beginning), but it didn't help, surprisingly.

BTW, maybe I just found out what the cause of the recovery error is: The
permissions of some of the logfiles in the db folder, which are obviously
the result of my colleagues would-be commit and are thus owned by him, are
set so that I can't remove them.
