Something I've been meaning for a while to bring up here. Under
RISC OS, filenames don't have extensions, (well, they can, but the OS
doesn't make use of them, and convention is not to use them) instead
they have a numeric filetype which is used to determine what icon to
show in a directory display, what application it is accociated with,
etc.
Subversion's properties would be ideal for storing this data, but
setting the properties manually is too tedious to be useful. Something
along the lines of how the svn:executable property works would be good,
but this is obviously a highly platform specific feature. I suspect
there may be similar types of situations on other platforms, so perhaps
some sort of interface to allow such automatic property setting might
be a good idea?
