Same here. I'm definitely not qualified to approve/deny a patch, but
I can certainly follow e-mail threads :)

Btw, what about setting up an issue tracker to *only* track threads?
That way, if there's a "we like the idea/patch, but can't get to it
for some time" resolution, we could file a patch-issue against the
idea, merging the relevant portions of the thread?

Just an idea.
