RA_DAV Tests: Question

I'm now sucessfully running the RA_DAV tests from the RPM build (hooray!).

My Question: Apparently I don't HAVE to set up access control to limit
access to a certain user. It is working without doing and the tests
are passing. Should I go ahead and do that?
