This happens to me alot when I test on a tmpfs mount and a) forget to
remove test data that's not needed, then b) run out of memory.

In fact, it is for this reason that I was thinking about implementing,
for every Python and C test, a flag which tells the test to remove any
data it created if the test's run was successful.
