Given the number and nature of trunk changes since the release, I
think the best course would be to branch from tags/0.18 and just apply
Sander's diff fixes (revision 5076 so far).

Michael et al, are you up for a bugfix release?

In order to avoid making too much work for the release managers, I
think we could wait a day or two, to give time for Sander to finish
the segv fix first.
