I'd just like to say that I read this paragraph aloud to Mike Pilato,
and we both enjoyed it greatly.

An amateur acquaintance with biology has mostly convinced me that
holism is just a primate's gloss on complexity anyway, i.e.,
essentially reductive in nature. Therefore, +1.
