Patching isn't the only way to help out -- solo has tested and
reported bugs, and has been posting some useful issues summaries.
Yes, I also wish that he'd try to have a more global view of
Subversion's needs sometimes :-). But it's not fair to characterize
all his posts as being non-constructive.
Solo, if you could try to put yourself in a developer's mind before
you post, that would help a lot. Saying that we need to speed up the
client is too vague to be of any use -- no one can take further action
based only on that. But saying "svn update spends 91% of its time in
read_entries(), and rereads the same entries files many times", for
example, is enough to file an issue on -- it's something people can
act on. (And, of course, patches are always welcome, you might have a
look at the bite-sized issues to start with.)
