By the default build, I just mean whatever builds when one runs

   ./configure --enable-maintainer-mode

I don't explicitly ask for SWIG stuff, nor ask for it to be omitted.

Heh, but I'll bet if I actually had SWIG installed on this machine,
then at least the glue layer would get build. Downloading and
installing swig now...
