Re: 0.16 client with 0.17 server?

[me]
Is this an obscure way of saying that I can't use a 0.16 client with a
0.17 server? Or is it something else?

[Greg Stein]
It should be compatible; we work pretty hard to do that.

Oh good!

Could you please attach the relevant pieces of your Apache access_log and
error_log? With those, we should hopefully be able to find why the server is
responding with a 500 status code.

No problem. Here's what I did on the client (svn 0.16 client from Debian
unstable):

$ svn ps svn:executable 1 mx_perf.sh
property `svn:executable' set on 'mx_perf.sh'
$ svn ci -mSet executable property. mx_perf.sh
gward's password:

svn: RA layer request failed
svn: Commit failed (details follow):

Could not execute PROPPATCH.

I'll attach fragments of access.log and error.log. I may be jumping the
gun, but this message (from error.log) looks incriminating:

Properties may only be defined in the http://subversion.tigris.org/xmlns/svn/ and http://subversion.tigris.org/xmlns/custom/ namespaces. [409, #0]
