Easy way to run valgrind

Is there an easy way to run valgrind over the make check programs?

Previously, I've edited the .lib/program script to place valgrind
before the actual program call.

This however doesn't cover the non .py tests.

It would sure be great if an arbitrary program name could be supplied
to make check to run each program inside of, valgrind or other
programs could be used, such as purify.
