My editor is nedit, which is in my path and is not a symlink to anything
else... Therefore I didn't run into trouble with the EDITOR variable. (I
did once, when I upgraded nedit and the executable in the path was replaced
by a symlink. Took me a while to figure out what the problem was. So I
definatly sympathize with you on this one.
