ViewCVS question

I know that cmike specifically said:

There are, however, some known issues that I do NOT want to hear
   about:

   1. Crossing copy history with diffs and old revisions doesn't work
yet, so you will see an exception that ends with:

RuntimeError: file not found: revision `3987', path
      `tags/0.16/CHANGES'

   2. Well...I can't think of a number 2 right now...

but I have a question that may be related.

Sometimes doesn't display all the commits for a file. For example,
if I have a file foo.c that I know has 17 commits, ViewCVS will only
show the last 2. No error messages, just not all the data.

If I tell ViewCVS to diff between two revisions of the file I know
exists, then I get the error message cmike doesn't want to hear about.

Is this another symptom of the known problem or something new?
